Legacy CRM to Inmoweb Migration for a Luxury Real Estate WordPress Website
A luxury real estate company relied on a custom CRM to manage thousands of property listings on its WordPress website. Over time, the system became expensive to maintain, difficult to scale, and outdated.
The challenge was more than replacing a CRM. The entire WordPress website depended on the legacy data structure, including property pages, search, filters, archive pages, URLs, and SEO.
DreamDev Solutions migrated the website to Inmoweb while preserving the existing frontend, user experience, URLs, and search engine visibility. Instead of rebuilding the website, we replaced the entire data layer behind it.
-
Project Goals
The client wanted to modernize its property management system without rebuilding the website.
The primary objectives were to:
- Replace the legacy custom CRM with Inmoweb.
- Reduce ongoing maintenance and development costs.
- Preserve the existing WordPress frontend.
- Keep all property pages, search, filters, and archives fully functional.
- Maintain the existing URL structure and SEO performance.
- Complete the migration with minimal business risk and no disruption for visitors.
-
The Challenge
From a technical perspective, this was much more than a CRM migration.
The WordPress frontend had been tightly coupled to the legacy CRM for years. Nearly every feature depended on its proprietary data model, including:
- property listings;
- search functionality;
- advanced filtering;
- archive pages;
- property relationships;
- SEO metadata;
- URL generation;
- internal data connections.
Replacing the CRM meant rebuilding the application’s data layer while ensuring the presentation layer continued to behave exactly as before.
The website needed to look identical to visitors, even though the backend architecture would change completely.
-
Our Solution
Rather than redesigning the website, we replaced the system behind it.
DreamDev Solutions developed a custom WordPress integration that synchronized property data from Inmoweb while keeping the existing frontend intact.
Our engineering work included:
Custom WordPress Integration Plugin
We developed a dedicated WordPress plugin responsible for integrating Inmoweb with the existing website.
The plugin:
- synchronizes active property listings from Inmoweb;
- stores synchronized data in a dedicated database table;
- keeps property information continuously updated;
- provides a reliable data source for the website.
This approach allowed us to separate external CRM data from WordPress while maintaining full control over how information is presented.
Data Mapping
Because the new CRM uses a different data model, every property attribute had to be mapped to the existing website structure.
This included:
- property details;
- pricing;
- images;
- property status;
- locations;
- taxonomies;
- metadata;
- SEO-related fields.
The goal was to ensure every page continued working without requiring changes to the frontend.
Preserving Existing Functionality
One of the biggest priorities was maintaining the site’s existing behavior.
We adapted the integration so the website continued supporting:
- property pages;
- archive pages;
- search;
- property filters;
- URL structure;
- internal relationships;
- SEO logic.
From a visitor’s perspective, nothing changed.
Behind the scenes, however, the entire source of data had been replaced.
Safe Migration
Before launch, the integration was thoroughly validated to ensure all active listings were synchronized correctly and displayed exactly as expected.
The migration was completed without requiring a redesign or interrupting the website’s operation.

Technologies
WordPress, PHP, and MySQL formed the core technology stack for this project. We developed a custom WordPress plugin to integrate the website with Inmoweb, enabling reliable property synchronization between the CRM and the website. The solution included database synchronization, custom data mapping to transform the legacy CRM structure into the new Inmoweb model, and seamless integration while preserving the existing frontend and SEO.
-
Results
The migration successfully replaced an aging custom CRM with a modern property management platform while preserving the existing WordPress website.
The client gained:
- lower long-term maintenance costs;
- a modern property management workflow;
- automatic synchronization of active property listings;
- preserved URL structure and SEO signals;
- uninterrupted search and filtering functionality;
- no visible changes to the website’s design or user experience;
- a scalable architecture that is easier to maintain and extend.
Most importantly, the business avoided an expensive website rebuild while achieving a complete backend modernization.

Why This Project Matters
Many long-running WordPress websites depend on legacy business systems that become difficult and expensive to maintain over time.
Replacing those systems often appears to require rebuilding the website from scratch.
This project demonstrates a different approach.
By replacing the data layer instead of the presentation layer, DreamDev Solutions enabled the client to modernize its infrastructure while preserving years of investment in design, SEO, and user experience.
For businesses operating complex WordPress platforms, this approach significantly reduces migration risk, shortens development time, and protects existing search visibility.
